Comprehensive Senior Care Services

FEED an Elderly

A hungry stomach, an empty wallet and a broken heart teach you the most valuable life lessons.

About Us

The Krugersdorp Council for the Care of the Aged was established in 1968 by the late Mr Robert Palk, a well-known businessman in Krugersdorp. Today, the KCCA is a fully registered non-governmental organisation (NGO), NPO No. 002-031, providing services to the elderly who live in the Krugersdorp area.

KCCA stands as a beacon of hope and support in Krugersdorp, Gauteng.

The KCCA Centre is situated in Burger Street, Krugersdorp. We seek to provide an environment in which the elderly may enjoy a social life outside of the confines of their retirement rooms and homes. It is an unfortunate fact that the aged are largely forgotten and sometimes neglected by society.

At KCCA, we believe in compassionate and comprehensive support for the elderly.

Goals:

We extend our caring to the elderly, ensuring they receive the respect and support they deserve. Our Service Centre provide comfort and companionship, enhancing the quality of life for our elderly. We also offer home support services, creating a strong support network for our registered members at KCCA and catering for the basic needs of the elderly concerning nutrition, healthcare, as well as social, spiritual and intellectual.

Finances

On the 6th of April 2023, we, along with many other similar NPO entities, attended a meeting with the Department of Social Development regarding the 2023/2024 financial year funding.

Thousands of Gauteng’s needy and vulnerable children, elderly, and people with disabilities will now receive limited to no welfare and social services because the Gauteng Department of Social Development (DSD) has reduced the NPOs funding by R62.1 million.

KCCA (Krugersdorp Council for the Care of the Aged) received an official letter to state funding has not been approved for the financial year of 2023/2024 for the reason that our services are not aligned with the priorities of the Gauteng Department of Social Development.

KCCA (Krugersdorp Council for the Care of the Aged) has a caseload of 300 elderly people in Krugersdorp and is currently giving 200 elderly people a properly cooked meal calculated 4000 meals monthly.

We as an organisation request any form of assistance from the community to enable us to continue our daily feeding program to benefit the destitute elderly in Krugersdorp.

We started with a program called “Feed an Elderly”. We ask the community to assist in feeding the elderly for R180 per month through a debit order facility. Amounts above R200.00 will be most welcome.

We can provide Section 18 A Certificates to Companies or individuals to qualify for SARS tax rebates.

Funds are a critical requirement for the existence of any facility. Internal fundraising, membership fees and No Government subsidies, external assistance is required from the community and business sector on an ongoing basis to enable us to sustain the excellent quality services rendered by the Centre. Any such assistance is much appreciated.
